Estelle Rolfe (Anne Bancroft) is a one-woman army, protesting against the world. She shames construction workers for cat calling women, refuses to cross a picket line for her son’s wedding and even goes to jail over grocery prices!
She also loves Greta Garbo. Then Estelle learns she has a brain tumour, with just six months to live. Having always felt like a disappointment to his outspoken mother, Estelle’s dutiful son Gilbert (Ron Silver) hires a paparazzo to lead him to Garbo’s flat. He uses increasingly desperate tactics, including becoming a food delivery boy, to catch a moment with the star and grant his mother’s dying wish to meet her.
